A Short History of Architect One

Founded in 1988 by Michael Wilson, Architect One, PA is a full service Architectural and Planning firm providing complete professional design services to Topeka and much of the central states region. Prior to establishing the firm, Mr. Wilson had served as a plan reviewer with the City of Topeka with previous experience in architectural firms in Topeka and Colorado. Conceived with the idea that a small firm could compete with larger firms by utilizing technology yet provide a closer working relationship with the clients and consultants, Architect One was established.

In 1993, Scott Gales joined Architect One’s staff. With previous experience in California and Kansas, Scott brought a talent for design and an enthusiasm for integrating new technology and practice to better assist our clientele. Having received professional registration in 1996, he accepted partnership in the firm with Michael in 1998. Scott continues to explore new and unique design solutions to meet our clients programmatic and budgetary requirements.

Listening and understanding the demands of our clients and providing them with technical & design expertise and professional representation has afforded us with the opportunity to expand our clientele base and the complexity of projects. With a diverse list of projects and satisfied clients throughout much of the Midwest, we have achieved a reputation of providing excellent service and unique design that has resulted in substantial referral‐clientele in addition to our repeat clientele.

Over the years, Architect One has enjoyed steady growth and success. Recently, were named the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce “2008 Small Business of the year”.

Our history of success and continued excellence in providing Professional Design Services emphasizes our ability to carry out complex and detail intensive projects in a timely manner with a sensitivity to the financial requests of our clientele. Architect One and its consultants take a great deal of pride in our work and the manner in which it is executed.
